THAT WAS THE KAPOO THAT WAS....

I’ve seen this popping up a lot lately, So I stole it off of John, and filled in my own answers.

High School Memories

 

What were your three favorite bands?
Billy Joel, The Police, and Queen

 

What was your favorite outfit?
Any Hawaiian Shirt, the louder, the better. Blue Jeans and some no name brand sneakers. Oh and I had cool sunglasses that had mirrors inside the lenses so you could see behind you.

 

What was up with your hair?
It was spiked and sometimes bleach Blondish. What can I say? Girls love touching spikey hair. Too bad they didn’t love touching the rest of me.

 

Who were your friends?
It seemed like all of the kids in suburbia were hell bent on being cool and forming gangs, with names like “Underground Mafia” or “Brew Crew” so we tried making it seem ridiculous. We were the “Knights of the Yellow Banana.” They’re still my best friends to this day.

 

What did you do after school?
Went on to college for too many years, got a crappy substitute teaching job—What? Oh! Now I get it. After school was either Marching Band or Stage (jazz) Band rehearsal, and/or track practice. After that, I hung out an empty school for about an hour, then started Play rehearsal or Set Crew. Then, I’d go home at 9 or 10 and have dinner.

 

What did you do in your Summers?
Worked. Made time for my friends (countless all night monster movie marathons!!) and went to band camp. (ßGeEk!)

 

Did you take the bus??
I didn’t hate the bus. I didn’t care if it was un cool. But if you got a ride to school, you didn’t have to leave quite as early. So I started mooching rides as soon as possible.

 

Who did you have a crush on??
Lynn and Melinda were my two loves in High School.

 

Did you fight with your parents??
I never really fought with my parents. Got yelled at, but didn’t fight. I pretty much knew when I was busted,  or wasn’t going to win out.

 

Who did you have a celebrity crush on?
Carolyn Jones (bonus points if you know who she is!!!)

Did you smoke cigarettes?
Hells no. I did drink once or twice (no really. Just once or twice, no more.)

Did you lug all of your books around in your backpack all day because you were too nervous to find your locker?
Nope. I never really had locker troubles of any kind.

 

Did you go to prom?
My senior year, yes. It was one of my biggest high school mistakes.

 

Where did you think you'd be at the age you are now?
Dead from massive heart failure. I figured by now my arteries would be solid cholesterol.
